Calculus
Calculus is a branch of mathematics that deals with the study of change. It has two major branches: differential calculus and integral calculus. Differential calculus focuses on the rate of change, or derivatives, of a function. Integral calculus concerns itself with finding the area under a curve, or the definite integral. Calculus is used in mathematics, science and engineering, to solve problems involving motion, growth and decay. It can also be used to solve optimization problems. Understanding calculus is essential for students looking to pursue mathematics, science or engineering at a higher level.
