Correlation refers to the statistical relationship between two entities. In simple words, it is how two variables move/behave in relation to one another.

A simple example of correlation can be: The more money you make, the more taxes you will pay. Note that this is a case of positive correlation, that means both the variables here earned money and tax move in same direction.

For negative correlation, example The more you work in the office, the less time you'll spend at home. Clearly, both variables move in opposite direction if you stay at home for long then you have to stay in office for less and vice versa.

For research you can take project from medical or pharmacy fields either on drugs or patients or diseases because you will get data in access, thereby, giving you better results for statistical purpose.

Suppose if you consider a research based on the number of patients and demand of drugs. Then you have to use a positive correlation because if the patients increase then the consumption of the drugs will be more. Hence, demand of drugs will also increase.
