Stuck on how to work out the area of the shaded part of the rectangle

I know how to find the area of the rectangle and I believe the square sides are 5cm. I have worked out the area of both and subtracted the squares. This is where I get stuck. I can work out the area of the top triangle but don't know if this is the right thing to do or where to go from there.

It is not possible to get the side of square as 5 by subtracting the area, by rotation it is 5 I also believe and can be proved easily! You said you can find top left area! How did you find the intersections on sides! I believe they will be 6,8 but did you prove it. ?
