Composition of  three functions

If y = 3x - 2, x = 3t + 2 and t = 3k - 2, Find an expression for y = f(k).

We have
\[y = 3x - 2=y = 3(3t + 2) - 2=9t+6-2=9t+4\]
\[=9(3k - 2)+4=27k-18+4=27k-14.\]
So
\[y=27k-14=f(k).\]
